Homemade Plastic Molding

Paint over the plastic molding with latex-based paint. You must paint latex with latex or the paint will flake off.


Latex plastic, too admitted as liquid latex casting compound, slush latex or mask latex, is a compound used for manufacture masks, especial object, toys, dolls and a host of other projects. Fabricate your own homemade plastic moulding from latex plastic and a homemade not difficult mould for a fraction of the bill of buying jillion sections of traditional moulding.


Instructions


1. Choose a moulding style that is approximately 1 to 2 inches wider than you desire to install on your walls. The mould and the plastic latex Testament shrink during the drying action. 5. Sprinkle the mold lightly with talcum or baby powder.


6. Pour the liquid latex casting compound into the mold until slightly overfull. The latex plastic will shrink as it dries and you can trim excess away with scissors once it is dry. Latex casting compound solidifies at room temperature and doesn't require heat. In mask making you would aim for a hollow product, but for molding allow the latex to remain in the mold.


7. Allow the latex to dry for about four or five days. When the back of the molding springs back when you gently push on it with your finger remove it from the mold by slowly lifting one end and pulling the molding upward.


8. Place the plastic molding on its back. Allow the molding to continue air drying until completely dry to the touch.


9. Install the molding with as few finish nails as will hold it sufficiently.Make plastic moulding from liquid latex casting compound.Moulding for interior decorating can be fictional of resin, plaster, wood or plastic.
