Paint Over Crackled Paint

Crackled whitewash creates a rustic appearance that may not fit every decor style.


Crackled stain is a usual whitewash end product used to conceive an aged appearance. Instructions


1. Cover the entire surface of the object with paint using a 2-inch paint brush. Be sure To move about the paint thoroughly using a paint stir stick before applying the paint. Allow paint to set for two hours and apply a second coat.


Scrape away large areas of paint to create a consistent texture.


3. Sand the surface of the object using 220-grit sandpaper. Sanding will create an even surface to paint.


4. Wipe object with a damp towel to remove any dust particles. Let surface dry completely before continuing.


5. Stir primer with a paint stir stick and prime the surface of the object using a 2-inch paint brush. Work primer into any crevices on the surface to create an even coverage of the entire object. Allow primer to dry for one to two hours and apply a second coat if necessary.


6. Scrape gone the emulsion on the target using a wire brush. Remove and chipped tint as crackled paint leaves an uneven surface covered with chippings.2. Remove the crackled paint from flat surfaces using a 2-inch metal putty knife.
