Fair Trade International

Fair Trade International is a collective of 24 organizations from around the world that work together to develop and implement standards across the global fair trade market. The Bonn, Germany, headquartered association also provides marketing, public relations and other administrative supports to the world's small fair trade producers.



Fair Trade Federation


Although the assembling can be traced back to the slow 1970s, the Correctly Commerce Federation was formally incorporated in 1994 as the North American Alternative Commerce Construction. Fair Trade USA is a nonprofit organization that serves as a third-party fair trade certifier in the USA. When American companies purchase goods from international suppliers, this association performs an in-depth audit of the entire transaction. They monitor to ensure that all workers were able to perform their tasks in a safe, hazard-free environments. They also ensure that employees were paid a fair wage. Moreover, suppliers that receive the Fair Trade USA seal of approval work must have used manufacturing techniques that protect the environment and uplift their local communities.


World Fair Trade Organization


The World Fair Trade Organization is worldwide association of more than 100 smaller organizations "committed to 100 percent fair trade." The group operates in 73 countries throughout Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, North America and the Pacific Rim. The primary mission of the organization is to elevate sustainable fair trade, thus enabling small producers to obtain greater earning power. This goal is accomplished through the administration of a variety of advocacy, marketing and policy initiative. The World Fair Trade Organization aims to facility $2.2 billion in global fair trade sales.
