The New Jersey Commission on Science and Technology distributes money through the Edison Innovation Clean Energy Fund to encourage development of solar and wind energy. Companies in the state can be awarded from $100,000 to $500,000 for a project that will considerably increase energy efficiency. Grantees are required to supply matching funds of 50 percent and they can receive an additional 20 percent of the grant amount from the state Economic Development Authority.
