Brother 7820n Instructions

The Brother 7820N is a multifunction printer for the familiar or dwarf occupation released in 2006. The monochrome 7820N can print at up to 20 pages per minute, build copies at up to 20 pages per minute, and fax. Though the printing quality is as facile as connecting the engine to a machine, the fax and record functions lack seperate steps to function.


Sending Faxes


The 7820N gives you two methods for sending a fax. The front is by using the automatic dossier feeder (ADF). Berth the file face up in the ADF and press the "FAX" Press-stud. Receiving Faxes

You can receive faxes in many ways with the 7820N. If the machine is connected to a dedicated line, place the machine in "FAX ONLY" mode so the machine automatically picks up the fax when it receives a call.


Dial the unit of the recipient and press "Birth." Once the head page is finished scanning, the control panel will ask if you have additional pages that need to be faxed. If you do, press "1," place the next page on the scanner and press "Menu/Set." Continue in this manner until all of the pages of the fax have been scanned. Once all of the pages have been scanned, press "2" to start the transmission.


If you are using the line for faxes and voice, place the unit in "FAX/TEL" or "MANUAL" mode. In "FAX/TEL" mode, the fax machine determines if the call is for the fax machine or if it is a voice call. When the 7820N determines its a voice call, it alerts you with a double ring. In "MANUAL" mode, you answer each call and determine if it is a voice or fax call. If you hear a fax tone, press the "Start" button on the machine to get the fax.


Another receiving mode is "EXTERNAL TAD." In this mode, and external answering machine is connected to the printer. When the answering machine picks up the call, the 7820N detects a fax tone and picks up the call. Voice calls are answered by the answering machine.


Copy Machine


You can make up to 99 copies promptly with the 7820N. To make a copy, press the "COPY" button so that it glows green. Place the document on the scanning glass and use the number pad to select the number of copies you want to make. When ready, press the "Start" button to make your copies. If you need to cancel the copy operation, press the "Stop/Exit" button.
