Microsoft Stock Split History

Microsoft has been a universal corporation by reason of 1986, currently trading on the NASDAQ under the ticker MSFT. On account of its IPO, Microsoft has split nine times and returned over 20,000 percent to its initial investors. It has again paid a dividend on its inventory on account of 2003. Microsoft has fabricated copious acquisitions and invested in groups such as MSNBC and Facebook.


IPO


Microsoft had its initial common offering on Stride 14th, 1986. Microsoft was initially priced at $21. On the other hand, due to eager want, the inventory antecedent traded at $25.50. Microsoft peaked the first off hour at $29.25 The inventory closed on the head period at $27.75. The inventory had a notebook of over 3.5 million shares, larger than the 3 million shares offered in the IPO.


Stock Performance

Microsoft has performed incredibly well since going public. An investor who subscribed to the initial public offering at $21 a share would have made over 28,500 percent on the initial investment. At Microsoft's peak, in 1999, an investor would have had an over 60,000 percent return.



Dividends


Microsoft has paid a dividend on its inventory on account of 2003. Microsoft first paid a $0.08 annual dividend in 2003. The company raised their annual dividend to $0.16. In the fourth quarter of 2004, Microsoft began paying a quarterly dividend of $0.08. The dividend was raised to $0.09 in the second quarter of 2006, $0.10 in the first quarter of 2007, $0.11 in the first quarter of 2008, and $0.13 in the first quarter of 2009. Microsoft also paid a special dividend of $3.00 on December 02, 2004.


Notable Investments


Microsoft has made numerous acquisitions of note, including Bungie Software, Hotmail, WebTV and Hotmail. Furthermore, Microsoft has made numerous notable investments. In 1995, Microsoft formed a joint-venture with NBC, MSNBC and MSNBC.com. Microsoft currently owns 18 percent of the venture. Microsoft invested $240 million in Facebook in 2007.


Splits

Microsoft has split nine times thanks to going universal. The inventory split 2-for-1 on Sept 18, 1987, Apr 12, 1990, May 20, 1994, Dec 6, 1996, Feb 20, 1998, Step 26, 1999, and Feb 14, 2003. The inventory further had two 3-for-2 splits on Jun 26, 1991 and Jun 12, 1992.
